The Rita Tong Liu School of Business and Hospitality Management prides itself on offering a professional education in various disciplines of business studies, providing students with learning experiences that are aligned closely with industry trends and market needs, especially in the area of economic and business developments. Our studies cover the One Belt One Road strategic development as well as developments in the neighbouring areas. To align with the Institute's mission, our BBA (Hons) Programme, with 4 streams, Accountancy (AC), Corporate Management and Governance (CMG), Hotel Management (HM), Marketing and Event Management (MEM), aims to provide students with professional development, sound education and positive life values.
Our school had also received professional recognition by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), CPA Australia and Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (HKICS). Hence our graduates in Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) majoring in Accountancy or Corporate Management are granted equivalent exemption status by relevant professional institutes; same as students of other local universities.
The School would like to emphasise that the title of our Corporate Management Stream has been changed to Corporate Management and Governance (CMG). The new title reflects the revised curriculum with coverage of Corporate Governance in more in-depth contents and inclusion of new courses, such as Risk Management and Boardroom Dynamics, that are required under the HKICS' new Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme (CGQP) with effect from January 2020. The BBACMG is the first Degree Programme in Hong Kong recognised by HKICS as the Partnership Bachelor's Programme (PBP) with maximum 4-paper exemptions under the CGQP. With the increasing initial public offerings in Hong Kong, our BBAAC and BBACMG graduates are prepared to meet the high demand for accounting and corporate governance professionals.
The BBAMEM is the unique programme in Hong Kong, combining the related disciplines of marketing and event management. It prepares students for taking up positions that require knowledge not only in marketing but also in organising and managing trade exhibitions, conventions, business and corporate events. In addition to other internship arrangement, Hotel Management students can gain practical learning experiences at the School's Training Hotel -- Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Kowloon CBD2. Our students can learn from the hotel practitioners through various on-site visits and internship at this brand new and modernized hotel.
In seeking to enhance its graduates' employability, the School has established a good network of industry professionals and potential employers in the commercial sectors. The School is also in close contact with a number of local and overseas higher education institutions to provide graduates with opportunities for academic advancement.
